As soon as the disengagement at Lake Pangong is completed, within 48 hours, talks will be held between the top military commanders of the two countries in the region, at which the continuation of the disengagement at other points will be discussed.

The aggravation of the situation in Ladakh occurred in early May 2020, when a series of conflicts arose between the military of India and China in the Pangong Lake area, after which both countries strengthened their military presence in the region.

Earlier, India and China accused each other of provocative actions on the border.
