“We clearly understand that restrictive measures are directed against a number of Ukrainian TV channels that somehow break through the vacuum of information propaganda built on anti-Russian rhetoric ... Ukraine and its president are not ready to allow the situation that this vacuum is somehow violated.

Restrictive measures, first of all, once again emphasize the weakness of both the incumbent president and, in general, the official institutions of the Ukrainian government, ”explained Ganzhara.

According to the political scientist, such actions once again show that in Ukraine "there is no freedom of speech and there is no democracy."

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) on the application of sanctions against the 112 Ukraine TV channel broadcasting regional channels under its logo, as well as the NEWSONE TV channel.

As the adviser to the head of the presidential office, Mikhail Podolyak, noted in an interview with Focus, such a decision is unlikely to raise questions from anyone who “analyzes the real disinformation activity of Russia in our media space”.

He also noted that these TV channels "are very actively and often openly used as instruments of foreign propaganda in Ukraine."
