The Chinese Super League confirms to follow the U23 rules for the new season, and the

   naturalized player policy remains unchanged

According to the "Notice on Matters Concerning the Registration and Transfer of Players of the Chinese Super League, Chinese A and Chinese B Clubs in the 2021 Season" issued by the Chinese Football Association on January 6, each club in the Chinese Super League in the new season will have a maximum of two transfer windows. There are 8 domestic players who can be transferred to no age limit, 3 more than the 5 in previous seasons.

The transfer of domestic players from each club of China League One and China League Two is not subject to quota restrictions.

In view of the club's deep dilemma facing dissolution or withdrawal, the Chinese Football Association will revitalize the domestic transfer market and create re-employment opportunities for more players. The closing time of this year's transfer winter window has been extended from February 26 to March 26 as originally planned.

Also out of maintaining the stability of the league environment and taking into consideration the fairness of the competition, the Chinese Football Association finally confirmed that the registration and playing regulations of the Chinese Super League naturalized players and U23 local players implemented last season will be followed.

This means that, except for the Chinese-born naturalized players Jiang Guangtai and Xiao Taotao, only one of the non-Chinese-born naturalized players of the Guangzhou team can register as an ordinary local player, and the rest can only be registered as "foreign aid" to participate in the clubs of the new season. Events.

The notice issued by the Chinese Football Association on January 6 shows that the first transfer window (winter window) for domestic professional football in the new season opened on January 1 and closed on February 26.

However, due to the impact of the epidemic, the new season of the Chinese Super League will not start until April 20 at the earliest. The Chinese Football Association decided to postpone the winter window by one month, that is, to close on March 26, so as to facilitate the preparation of professional clubs at all levels. New season.

A reporter from the Beijing Youth Daily learned on the 8th that the Chinese Football Association and the preparatory group for the professional league currently tend to relax policies from the perspective of promoting the flow of professional league talent.

However, in view of the seriousness of the rules or system, after communication, the parties finally decided to follow the U23 local player and naturalized player registration and playing rules that were implemented last season.

According to the established rules, the Chinese Super League clubs will still not be restricted to the U23 local player registration quota this season, but each team will still ensure at least one U23 local player on the field in each game (the relevant U23 player is ordered to play by a red card). Except for circumstances).

As for the rules for naturalized players, the clubs of the Chinese Super League in the new season will still implement the relevant content of the "Notice on the Adjustment of the 2020 Professional League Policy" announced on December 31, 2019.

In other words, naturalized players with Chinese descent will be regarded as ordinary local players, and their registration and transfer will refer to the relevant rules of ordinary local players; if the naturalized player does not have Chinese descent, then only if one of the relevant conditions is met In order to register and sign up for the new season as a domestic player, each Chinese Super League club can only register for at most one non-Chinese naturalized player according to the domestic player standard.

There are two conditions that such players need to meet.

The first is to have been naturalized for 5 years; the second is to have the official qualifications for the national team.

It should be noted that the introduction of naturalized players by clubs is not universal in domestic professional football, and the actual number of naturalized players introduced by local clubs is also very limited.

In the long run, after the relevant policies have been used for a few years, they are of little practical significance.
