Residents living west of the Syrian capital said that several violent explosions rocked the area as a result of Israeli air strikes, focusing on the south and northwest of the capital, and confirmed that the explosions' fire was seen in the area that was bombed.
For its part, Syrian media said that the air defenses confronted enemy targets over the sky of the southwestern Damascus countryside.
The Israeli bombing today is the fifth this year, as areas in the countryside of Damascus were subjected to an air strike on the third of February.
On January 13, Israeli raids on weapons stores and military sites in eastern Syria killed at least 57 regime forces and groups that Israel considers loyal to Iran, in a toll that is the highest since the start of the Israeli strikes in Syria.
