Hamburg (dpa) - Despite Corona, Germans look to the year 2021 with confidence. This is the result of a GfK survey by the Foundation for Future Issues of British American Tobacco (BAT).

According to this, a narrow majority of German citizens (51 percent) have a positive view of the coming year (2015: 44 percent).

The most hopeful are the over-65s (59 percent), while the middle age groups (36 percent) are mostly anxious about the development of the next twelve months.

Almost one in four Germans (23 percent) believes that Germany will be in a better economic position at the end of next year than it is today (2015: 20 percent).
