Val di Fassa (dpa) - Skier Kira Weidle ended the weekend in Val di Fassa with another only moderate performance in the Super-G.

On Sunday she was 2.35 seconds behind the Italian Federica Brignone, who can comfort herself with her 16th World Cup victory after the messed up home World Cup in Cortina d'Ampezzo.

After 21 starters, Weidle was only 17th.

Second was the Swiss world champion Lara Gut-Behrami (+0.59), who will thus secure the overall victory in this discipline, ahead of her compatriot Corinne Suter (+0.72).

Weidle had previously occupied fourth and third place on the runs in Val di Fassa on Friday and Saturday.

The Super-G on Sunday was overshadowed by a bad fall by Norwegian Kajsa Vickhoff Lie.

The 22-year-old tilted, took off and hit the safety fence head first.

Since her skis did not come off, she twisted her legs.

Lie screamed in pain and was taken away by helicopter.

Later the Austrian Rosina Schneeberger also had a hard fall.

The race was therefore interrupted several times for a long time.
