Schleiz / Erfurt (dpa / th) - In the Saale-Orla district, schools and kindergartens will only open for a short time.

After the seven-day value for new corona infections jumped the mark of 200 per 100,000 inhabitants on Sunday, the district administration announced on Sunday that the facilities would be closed from Tuesday (March 2nd).

A corresponding general decree is being worked on.

The so-called incidence in the southeast Thuringian district on Sunday was 206.7.

In Thuringia, schools have to close if the incidence value of new corona infections is over 200.

With values between 150 and 200, the circles have a degree of freedom to make decisions.

The primary schools and kindergartens had reopened just a week ago.

On Monday, as in most Thuringian municipalities, the fifth and sixth graders should receive lessons in the restricted regular operation again.

The district administration wanted to give schools, kindergartens and families several days in advance, despite the exceeded value, she said.

However, the state government insisted on the immediate implementation of the regulations applicable in Thuringia for daycare and school closings due to pandemics.

The district was asked on Sunday to keep it closed on Monday, but was able to postpone it until Tuesday.
