Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - Midfielder Sebastian Rode can well imagine ending his career as a professional footballer at Eintracht Frankfurt.

"Yes, in any case.

That would be a nice end to my career, ”said the 30-year-old in an interview with the“ Frankfurter Rundschau ”(Saturday).

Rode was born in Hesse and returned to Eintracht in 2019 after stints at FC Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

The midfielder currently has a contract until 2024, beyond that he has not yet given any thought.

“But it won't go as far as my feet would carry me, my body has experienced too much for that.

I want to have a healthy time after my career, ”emphasized the footballer.

Rode cannot imagine that, like his Japanese colleague Makoto Hasebe, he would still sprint across the football field at the age of 37.
