(Express delivery of the two sessions) Representatives of the National People's Congress: Strengthen the emergency treatment of medical waste and innovate new treatment technology

China News Service, Beijing, March 11 (Yuan Rujing) Since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the amount of medical waste disposed of across the country has been increasing, and how to dispose of medical waste has gradually attracted public attention.

Recently, Huang Juhua, a representative of the National People's Congress, deputy chairman of the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Democratic League, and dean of the High-end Medical Equipment Innovation Institute of Nanchang University, suggested strengthening emergency treatment of medical waste and innovating new technologies for medical waste disposal.

In recent years, medical waste disposal has made great progress, but the operating cost of medical waste is relatively high.

Hospitals need to bear high costs for collection and disposal. In addition, some medical institutions need to pay special attention to the temporary storage of medical waste that does not meet the specifications.

Huang Juhua said that the location of temporary storage of medical waste in some medical institutions is unreasonable, it is not closed, and it is not easy to clean and disinfect. After use, disposable infusion sets and syringes are not disinfected according to regulations and discarded at will. Disposable infusion sets and syringes Flow to society, scattered communities, pollute the environment, or be used by illegal traders.

Huang Juhua suggested that a temporary storage place for medical wastes meeting the requirements should be set up in township community health service centers to collect medical waste from community health service stations, outpatient departments, and clinics, so as to reduce the cost of medical waste collection and realize the collection of medical waste in medical institutions below the county level. Low cost and wide coverage.

According to the previous management model, the treatment of medical waste is mainly based on incineration, which mainly includes metal, rubber, glass, and plastic, and lacks new technology and effective technology integration.

Huang Juhua believes that it is necessary to innovate new medical waste disposal technology and develop a mobile medical waste treatment platform to effectively ensure timely transfer and safe treatment of medical waste while eliminating pollution sources.

"Establishing intelligent supervision means, when medical waste is reduced, packaged and incinerated, the data center can implement remote data reception, record, analyze, count, and report data, and further data mining can be carried out." Huang Juhua said.
