The “Renaulution” is on the move.

The Renault group's new strategic plan, unveiled Thursday, January 14 by its president Luca de Meo, will involve the replacement of the legendary Alpine A110.

The French car manufacturer will thus join forces with Lotus to build a 100% electric version, reports

The choice of Lotus is explained in particular by its expertise in the sector.

The British manufacturer has already set foot in the world of 100% electric sports cars with the Evija.

Its four engines develop 2,000 horsepower.

Balance in 2025

Neither Renault nor Alpine provided details on this association.

But according to the presentation images, it seems that three electric models are in the boxes.

A coupe, which would therefore replace the A110, a sporty compact SUV for the whole family, as well as a sporty city car which could be a new version of the Renault 5 Turbo, specifies

Alpine aims for balance by 2025. The brand's arrival in the Formula 1 championship in 2021 should allow it to open up markets around the world.

Double world champion Fernando Alonso and Frenchman Esteban Ocon will drive the race car.
