Recently, the black-faced spoonbill, a wild animal under national first-class protection, and the white-faced spoonbill, a wild animal under national second-class protection, appeared in groups for the first time in the Funing Bay wetland, Songshan Street, Xiapu County, Fujian Province.

They either bow their heads for food, stop and watch, or walk leisurely and play with each other on the beach, forming a unique landscape.

In February 2021, the adjusted "National Key Protected Wildlife List" upgraded the black-faced spoonbill from a second-level protected animal to a national first-level protected wild animal.
