Hospitalization, infection, transfer, operation… The last three weeks of Prince Philip follow one another and unfortunately are alike.

The husband of Queen Elizabeth II was thus transferred this Friday to a private hospital in London where he had been admitted in mid-February for an infection, after a cardiac intervention in another establishment.

"After the successful surgery on the Duke of Edinburgh at St Bartholomew's Hospital on Wednesday, His Royal Highness was transferred to King Edward VII Hospital this morning," Buckingham Palace said.

The prince, who will celebrate his hundredth birthday in June, will stay there "for several days to continue his treatment".

Hospitalized since February 16, Prince Philip was transferred to St Bartholomew's Hospital in central London on Monday and underwent "surgery" for a heart problem in this establishment, which has the largest specialized cardiovascular service in Europe. .

This transfer had raised fears of a deterioration in his state of health, but Wednesday, his daughter-in-law Camilla, wife of Crown Prince Charles, had indicated that he was "in slight improvement": "He suffers at times.

We're wishing for the best ".
