Berlin / Hanau (dpa / lhe) - Almost a year after the racially motivated attack with nine dead in Hanau, experts want to deal with the crime and the consequences today (10:00 a.m.) in a press conference.
The title “One year after Hanau: Many unanswered questions” is about how the victims are, what information is available about the background to the crime and what is necessary to prevent right-wing extremist and racially motivated acts in the future.
In addition to Ajla Kurtović, whose brother Hamza was killed in the attack on February 19 last year, the Hanau victims' commissioner Andreas Jäger and the sociologist Matthias Quent from the Institute for Democracy and Civil Society in Jena also take part in the press conference.
The 43-year-old German Tobias R. shot nine people with foreign roots on the evening of the crime in Hanau before presumably killing his mother and himself.
He had previously published pamphlets with conspiracy myths and racist views on the Internet.
