08 March 2021 Tomorrow the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, will be vaccinated at the Lazzaro Spallanzani hospital in Rome.

The Head of State is expected at noon in the hospital in the Monteverde district after following the protocols, procedures and deadlines set by the Lazio Region.

'' Getting vaccinated - Mattarella said in his message at the end of the year - is a choice of responsibility, a duty.

All the more so for those who work in contact with the sick and the most fragile people.

Faced with such a highly contagious disease, which causes so many deaths, it is necessary to protect one's health and it is necessary to protect that of others, family, friends, colleagues.

I will vaccinate as soon as possible, after the categories which, being at higher risk, must take precedence ''.

The Head of State will turn eighty on 23 July.

A leak would have prevented communication of the vaccination only after it was carried out as it was decided to do.
