Bodenheim (dpa / lrs) - A police car got into oncoming traffic while driving to a mission near Bodenheim (Mainz-Bingen district) and collided with a sports car.

The 31-year-old driver of the sports car and the 24-year-old passenger in the patrol car were slightly injured, the police announced on Tuesday evening.

A seven-year-old child in the sports car and the 27-year-old driver in the police car were uninjured.

Both cars were badly damaged.

According to initial findings, the patrol car slipped on a wet and dirty road and came into oncoming traffic.

The officers were on their way to an operation and drove with flashing lights and sirens.
