WhatsApp should soon allow self-destruction of images in a chat.
The feature will make an appearance in a future update for iOS and Android, according to a tweet posted by WABetaInfo.

It will then be proposed to establish a countdown allowing to decide for how long the visual will be visible by the interlocutor.
The photo is also deleted if a user leaves the current discussion (see on this tweet).
Cannot import the image to a smartphone
WhatsApp teams also plan to limit the export of visuals.
Thus, it will be possible to decide that the image cannot be imported to a smartphone.
An approach comparable to what we see on Snapchat or Instragam Live.
No preview will be visible.
To see the image, you must click on it.
Also new in favor of limiting data sharing, WhatsApp has not yet implemented screenshot detection for self-destructing photos.
An update with this new feature could arrive in the coming weeks.
For the moment, only the self-destruction of messages is taken into account by the messaging application.
