Black-and-white pictures were taken from an altitude of 330-350 km.

They show craters, mountain ranges and dunes.

The largest crater has a diameter of about 620 meters, according to the China National Space Agency (CNSA).

On July 23, 2020, China announced the successful launch of its first probe to explore Mars, Tianwen 1.
