The city of Perpignan will reopen four municipal museums on Tuesday, without waiting for a possible government announcement.

"Culture is essential to the life of Perpignan residents like all French people," said Mayor RN Louis Aliot, while these places have been closed since the end of October.

"Culture is essential to the life of Perpignan residents like all French people, it is high time to reopen cultural places, some say it, we are doing it. We are experimenting with reopening cultural places in our museums", declared Louis Aliot to AFP.
