Menden (dpa / lnw) - A mask refuser is said to have attacked an employee of the public order office with pepper spray in Menden in the Sauerland.

As the police announced on Thursday, the public order office checked compliance with the mask requirement in a playground on Wednesday and warned parents without appropriate mouth and nose protection.

One couple still did not wear a mask.

When leaving the playground with her child, the 22-year-old man aggressively harassed the security forces.

When the couple was asked to identify themselves, they wanted to run away.

The staff held the woman, whereupon the man returned and sprayed a 36-year-old clerk several times with pepper spray in the face.

He was slightly injured.

When the police were called, he ran away.

Among other things, he is now being investigated for dangerous bodily harm.
