Hahn (dpa / lrs) - After the announced bankruptcy of the Chinese airport Hahn main owner, two committees of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament are dealing with the Hunsrück airport on Monday.

At the request of the CDU opposition, the joint special meeting of the interior and transport committees deals with the "effects on the Hunsrück economic region and the operation of Frankfurt-Hahn Airport".

Because of the corona pandemic, parliamentarians are debating in a video conference.

The Chinese conglomerate HNA recently announced bankruptcy.

Creditors applied for the realignment of the heavily indebted corporation.

Hunsrück Airport Hahn is 82.5 percent owned by HNA and 17.5 percent by the State of Hesse.

According to the Chinese Consulate General in Frankfurt and the Hahn management, HNA is not about bankruptcy, but rather about realignment.

This will have no impact on the operation of the airport in the Hunsrück.
