Kronberg (dpa / lhe) - Careful loosening of the lockdown: From Monday, the Opel Zoo in Kronberg may reopen.
However, visiting elephants and meerkats is subject to conditions and is linked to the incidence rate in Hesse.
With a 7-day incidence between 50 and under 100 - i.e. the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days - zoo visitors have to register online beforehand, book an appointment and store the contact details, reported a zoo spokeswoman on Friday.
From Saturday on, the portal for online reservations will be open on the zoo's website.
Visitors can then book one of the three possible appointments per day within the next two weeks, namely in the time slots 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Admission tickets must be booked for every single visitor to the zoo, including children under three years of age, whose admission is free, and holders of annual tickets.
It was said that entry on the day of the visit was only possible with the printed document.
Up to 500 visitors can be admitted per time slot.
"This procedure has been coordinated with our supervisory authorities and will only apply for the next two weeks," said zoo director Thomas Kauffels.

Nationwide, the incidence value on Friday was 68.9.
At 119.6 it was highest in the Lan-Dill district and lowest in the Kassel district with 32.9.
