Olympic Committee President: The "Tokyo Games" are on schedule, and there is no alternative plan

The postponed Tokyo Olympics 2020 will be held until next summer due to the new Corona virus on schedule and "there is no alternative plan," according to German International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach in an interview today.

"We have no reason at this moment to believe that the Tokyo Olympics will not start on July 23," Bach told Japan's Kyodo News.

And he continued, six months before the start of the Summer Olympics, "That is why there is no alternative plan, and we are fully committed to making these games successful and safe."

Doubts are surrounding the holding of the postponed games due to the repercussions of the global pandemic, while the organizing committee continues to confirm its intention to hold the event, but has not ruled out the hypothesis that the audience will be absent, according to what Tokyo 2020 Executive Director Toshiro Moto said in an interview Wednesday with (AFP).

Muto admitted that people are "concerned" as the number of HIV infections continues to rise around the world, including Japan, where Tokyo is under a state of emergency.

And he insisted that the games are still possible, even without imposing an anti-virus vaccine on athletes and fans.
