A human mission to Mars at hand?
We are tempted to believe it as the red planet seems to arouse the enthusiasm of space agencies in many countries but also of some famous billionaires such as Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos or Richard Branson.
Yet while scientific experiments soon to be deployed on Martian soil seem to pave the way for future human missions, the exploration of the red planet continues to focus on understanding its history and finding ancient traces of life.
Has Mars been inhabited?
As Lucia Mandon, a researcher at the Laboratory for Space Studies and Instrumentation in Astrophysics (LESIA) reminds us, “we know that Mars was habitable.
Now the question is: has Mars been inhabited?

And if proof is given that life existed on Mars, one of the closest planets to Earth, then the current existence of extraterrestrial life becomes more than likely.
