Erfurt (dpa / th) - After a year marked by the corona pandemic, the Thuringians celebrate New Year's Eve with restrictions.

New Year's Eve fireworks may not be lit on public streets, squares and paths at the turn of the year.

This is regulated by the Thuringian state ordinance to contain the pandemic.

New Year's Eve celebrations in public spaces are also prohibited.

New Year's Eve fireworks are allowed on private areas, but Thuringians are called upon to avoid them if possible.

The night-time exit restrictions will be relaxed for New Year's Eve.

People are allowed to stay outside after 10 p.m., but they have to be back home by 3 a.m. on New Year's Eve.

In any case, they must adhere to the contact restrictions.

Up to five people from two households are allowed to stay together;

Children under the age of 14 are not counted.

Unlike at Christmas, there is no relaxation here.
