Recently, at the 21st meeting of the Standing Committee of the Thirteenth People's Congress of Yunnan Province, the "Regulations on AIDS Prevention and Control of Yunnan Province" (hereinafter referred to as the "Regulations") were passed.

  From March 1st next year (2021), Yunnan will implement new AIDS prevention and control regulations.

  The Regulations clearly:

  Higher education institutions and secondary vocational schools in Yunnan Province should incorporate knowledge of AIDS prevention and sexual health into the school education curriculum, examination content and credit management, and ensure necessary class hours.

  Yunnan Provincial government agencies, organizations, enterprises and institutions should include AIDS testing in their physical examination service packages.

  Residents in areas with severe AIDS epidemics should undergo free AIDS screening tests before marriage.

  Service personnel in commercial public places should be tested for AIDS every six months.

  Among them, Article 20 of the Yunnan Province AIDS Prevention and Control Regulations stipulates: Infected persons and patients should promptly inform their spouses or sexual partners of the facts about HIV. If they do not inform themselves, medical and health institutions have the right to inform; Article 57 stipulates: Infected persons who fail to inform their spouses, persons with sexual relations and other persons at risk of exposure to the fact of HIV infection in time will be held criminally responsible in accordance with the law.
