Berlin (dpa / lby) - Transport Minister Andreas Scheuer (CSU) has big plans for the new German Center for Mobility of the Future in Munich.
Scheuer said on Wednesday in Berlin: "We want to bring bright minds and new ideas together to make Germany the leading location for future mobility - tomorrow's prosperity can only be achieved with innovation now."
On Wednesday, according to the ministry, the founding advisory board of the center met virtually for a constituent meeting.
The advisory board is made up of representatives from industry, science and politics.
The center should focus equally on social, economic and ecological goals.
According to the ministry, budget funds totaling 322.55 million euros are available for the project for the years 2021 to 2024.
The establishment of the center in Munich was criticized by the opposition in the Bundestag.
Opposition politicians had accused Scheuer last March of having awarded the center to Bavaria “in the manner of a manor” and without a location competition.
