  During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, Beijing focused on the development of the cultural industry in the national cultural center to lead the construction of the district, and continuously promoted the high-quality development of cultural industries to achieve new results.

  In the past five years, the development of Beijing's cultural industry has entered a new stage, and the scale of the cultural industry has continued to grow.

In 2019, the city's cultural industry above designated size achieved an income of 128.497 billion yuan (RMB, the same below) and an added value of 331.84 billion yuan, both 1.7 times the end of the 12th Five-Year Plan period.

  At the same time, the structure of Beijing's cultural industry has continued to optimize, and its core cultural fields have obvious advantages. At the end of the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, core fields such as content creation and production, news and information services accounted for 91.6% of operating income, which is about 30% higher than the national level.

  Especially under the impact of the epidemic, Beijing's cultural industry has shown strong resistance to shocks and risks.

Data shows that from January to November 2020, the city's cultural industry above designated size achieved revenue of 12334.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.3%.

  In the face of the sudden new crown pneumonia epidemic, relevant departments immediately issued the "28 Beijing Culture" to promote the healthy development of cultural enterprises to help online audio-visual, theatrical performances, radio and television industries resist the impact of the epidemic.

From January to November last year, the field of content creation and production in Beijing increased by 38.1% year-on-year.

  With the strong support of the cultural industry policy, Beijing's cultural enterprises have strengthened their development strength. In 2019, there were 4,872 cultural enterprises above designated size in the city, an increase of 1,413 from the end of the 12th Five-Year Plan period.

  Over the past five years, Beijing has vigorously implemented the "Culture +" strategy, actively cultivated new forms and models of culture, and injected new momentum into the development of the cultural industry.

  Statistics show that during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, the amount of new RMB loans and the number of households in Beijing's cultural industry exceeded twice the amount during the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period.

At the end of the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, Beijing's listed cultural enterprises accounted for 30% of the country, and more and more social capital provided assistance for the development of the cultural industry.

The output value of the game industry has doubled from 5 years ago

  At the end of the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, the output value of Beijing's game industry was approximately 83 billion yuan, doubling that at the end of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period; the export output value of animation and game companies exceeded 35 billion yuan, ranking first in the country.

  Over the past five years, Beijing has installed “accelerators” for the cultural industry iteration around “culture + technology”, promoted the application of new technologies such as 5G, big data, AR, and VR in the cultural field, and constantly created new cultural products and experiences.

  At the same time, Beijing has effectively promoted the gathering and development of resource elements of the e-sports industry in Beijing, creating a good environment for the development of new formats, and shaping new scenarios for industrial development.

At the end of the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, the city's above-scale "cultural + technology" enterprises accounted for more than half of the city's operating income.

  Beijing is rich in cultural venues.

Over the past five years, Beijing has guided social capital to actively create cultural venues with diversified formats and rich experiences.

At the end of the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, the city has 161 operating units for performance venues; there are 266 movie theaters, and Beijing accounts for 7 of the top ten theaters in the country; there are 1,938 physical bookstores, and there are 0.9 bookstores owned by 10,000 people. .

  Over the past five years, Beijing’s cultural market has continued to prosper, with outstanding achievements in radio, television, and online audiovisual.

Statistics show that the city's radio, television and online audiovisual revenues exceed 700 billion yuan, accounting for more than a quarter of the country; there are 291 newspapers and 3174 periodicals in Beijing, accounting for more than one-third of the total number of newspapers and periodicals in the country.
