Minister of Defense Kishi participated in a video conference format at a meeting with the Defense Ministers of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations ASEAN, and announced that Japan would actively cooperate in the field of cyber security.

The video conference-style meeting was attended by Minister of Defense Kishi and the defense ministers of 10 ASEAN-Association of Southeast Asian Nations.



In this, Minister Kishi said, "The pandemic of the new coronavirus is hindering direct communication between people and increasing their reliance on virtual means of interaction."



On that basis, Minister Kishi stated that Japan needs to actively cooperate in the field of cyber security, saying that it is necessary to improve its ability to respond to cyber attacks.



The Ministry of Defense intends to strengthen cooperation in the field of defense with ASEAN through support projects such as holding seminars for cyber personnel in ASEAN countries.
