Shortly after eight o'clock on Wednesday evening, the police, rescue service and ambulance were called to an apartment on Prästgårdsliden in Mjälby.
According to the alarm, a bang would have been heard and after that a fire broke out in an apartment.
Police launched a preliminary investigation into public destruction and cordoned off the site.
According to information to P4 Östergötland, the police bomb protection was also called to the scene.
The apartment owner was arrested during the evening by police and is now suspected of public destruction.
No person was injured, according to police, in connection with the incident.
