Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - Lufthansa no longer sees a future in its fleet for the world's largest passenger aircraft.

From today's perspective, the A380s that are currently parked for a long time will no longer return to regular service, said Lufthansa boss Carsten Spohr on Thursday when the balance sheet was presented in Frankfurt.

Lufthansa has 14 jets of this type in its fleet, of which the manufacturer Airbus is taking back six.

In the Lufthansa configuration, the four-engine jet has 509 passenger seats.
