Berlin (dpa) - After a long injury break, Max Kruse has promised his Bundesliga comeback in ten days in the 1. FC Union game at SC Freiburg.

"Yes, it looks good, the structures are almost together," said the Berlin professional footballer on Instagram: "I'm on a very, very good path."

At the beginning of December, Kruse tore a muscle bundle in his thigh in the derby at Hertha BSC (1: 3).

In the meantime, the 32-year-old offensive player was able to contest parts of the team training again.

Kruse revealed that it was not enough to play in the Unioner's home game against Schalke 04 on Saturday.

Next Monday, another MRI examination is on the agenda for the ex-national player, and a strength test on Tuesday.

"And then nothing stands in the way of the whole thing, it took long enough," said Kruse: "I'm hot, I really want to play."

1. FC Union had initially continued the sensational series of successes without their prominent newcomer, but has currently been waiting for a win for four games.

"I already have the feeling that we are fighting for survival, of course the situation is different with 29 points," said coach Urs Fischer after the most recent 0: 1 in Mainz.

In ninth place, the Iron are currently twelve points ahead of the relegation ranks.
