During an interview with "Ouest-France", on the eve of a visit to Brittany on Saturday, Jean Castex indicated that "significant investments will be announced in the coming weeks" in favor of hospitals.

In addition, no less than 13 billion euros of hospital debt will be taken back.

Jean Castex promised that "significant investments" would be "announced in the coming weeks" for hospitals, in addition to Ségur de la Santé, in an interview with

Ouest-France

published on Friday.

"Significant investments will also be announced in the coming weeks, not to mention the assumption of a third of the hospital debt," the Prime Minister told the regional daily, on the eve of a visit to Brittany.

Asked by AFP, Matignon did not provide any details on these investments.

In the context of the health crisis, the executive had already gone to the bedside of the hospital system last summer with the Ségur de la Santé, which resulted in an envelope of 8.2 billion euros in salary increases as well as 15,000 hires.

Added to this is the resumption of hospital debt to the tune of 13 billion euros.

Praising the solidity of the "French system", Jean Castex however called to "remain pragmatic and learn the lessons of a crisis": "If reforms must be undertaken, they will be it", he added.

Matignon and Scrabble

Jean Castex is due to go to Brittany on Saturday: first near Brest for the inauguration of the headquarters of the French Research Institute for the Exploitation of the Sea (Ifremer);

then in a company near Rennes, in order to promote the government mechanism to help hiring young people.

"As soon as I can go to the territories, I am the happiest of men", testified Jean Castex.

Asked about the requirement of the post of Prime Minister, Jean Castex considered that it was comparable "to Scrabble", namely that "the months count triple".

"What I can tell you is that boredom does not lie in wait for me. There is nothing more galvanizing than having the honor of serving your country when it is in turmoil", a- he continued.
