Tsukasa Akimoto, a 49-year-old member of the House of Representatives, has been charged with bribery for receiving a bribe worth 7.6 million yen from a former adviser of a Chinese company in a corruption case involving an IR / integrated resort facility. He has been accused of acquiring witnesses for trying to give him cash by asking his advisers to give false testimony in court.



The Tokyo District Court has decided to hold the first trial of Representative Akimoto on the 29th of this month.
