200,000 tests deployed in the region within three weeks

But saliva tests in schools are still far from being fully deployed.

Some 200,000 must be put on the ground in the next three weeks, according to the Regional Health Agency (ARS).

In Paris, the first tests will be carried out on Friday.

Last week, 3,000 tests were deployed over the whole of zone A (academies of Besançon, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, Dijon, Grenoble, Limoges, Lyon and Poitiers).

A figure well below the 50,000 tests announced by the Minister of National Education Jean-Michel Blanquer.

But that did not prevent the experience from being fruitful, as in Saint-Étienne, where only three positive and asymptomatic cases were detected out of 950 tests.

Results that fall under medical confidentiality

As a reminder, the precise list of establishments where the tests are carried out is made by the rectorates in connection with the ARS and the prefectures, which determine the areas where the virus is actively circulating.

Neither school directors nor staff have access to personal results because they are subject to medical confidentiality.

But they are on the other hand informed of the number of cases in their establishment.
