The SAR government cited the Prevention and Control of Diseases (Compulsory Testing for Certain Persons) Regulations (Chapter 599J), restricting people in Jordan’s designated "restricted areas" to stay in their premises and undergo mandatory testing as arranged by the authorities.
The "restricted area" extends from Wusong Street in the east, Nanjing Street in the south, Paotai Street in the west, and Gansu Street in the north.
The subject must wait at his premises until all the identified subjects in the area have completed the test and the relevant test results have been roughly confirmed before leaving the premises.
The goal of the authorities is to complete this action within about 48 hours to achieve the goal of "clearing" the community.
It is reported that the SAR government has set up designated areas in Yau Ma Tei and Jordan and then delineated core areas to strengthen compulsory inspections.
However, the infection situation in the region continued to be severe. From January 1 to 20, a total of 162 confirmed cases were recorded in the "designated area of Jordan", involving 56 buildings.
At the same time, in the past few days, the proportion of sewage samples from buildings located in "restricted areas" that continue to test positive is higher than that of the rest of the designated area in Jordan, indicating that there may be infected persons in relevant places.
Therefore, after a risk assessment, the SAR government believes that it is necessary to make restrictions and detection announcements on "restricted areas", cut off the transmission chain in the area, and thereby eliminate the doubts of residents in the area.
The SAR government will set up temporary sampling stations in the "restricted areas" and require the people under inspection to be tested before midnight on the 23rd.
Subjects will be arranged in batches to undergo nucleic acid testing at sampling stations, where throat and nasal cavity swabs will be used for sampling.
Before all persons have test results, the persons under inspection must stay on the premises to reduce the risk of cross-infection.
The SAR government will arrange for people with mobility impairments and elders, including residents of elderly homes in the district, to conduct home sampling, or arrange for them to collect and submit deep throat saliva samples by themselves.
A spokesperson for the SAR government stated that the authorities understand that this arrangement will cause inconvenience to the public and have arranged sufficient testing resources to conduct testing for all persons under inspection in the "restricted area" as soon as possible. The goal is to complete the operation within about 48 hours , To complete the test and determine the results for all the identified persons under inspection, in the hope that citizens can start work at around 6 am on the 25th.
The SAR government has also prepared simple food and cleaning supplies for residents subject to mandatory testing.
The Home Affairs Department has set up a hotline, including a hotline specifically for ethnic minorities. The hotline services will operate from 6 am today for inquiries and help from citizens subject to testing restrictions.
The Social Welfare Department will also provide assistance to affected residents.
In addition, the Food and Health Bureau will also issue mandatory inspection notices to all premises in the "restricted area". Anyone who has been in the "restricted area" for more than two hours in the past 14 days, even if not at the time of the relevant announcement.
