Felixsee (dpa / bb) - A hand grenade has been discovered at Felixsee near Bohsdorf (Spree-Neisse).

A witness who was traveling with a metal probe had discovered the ammunition from the Second World War at a depth of about 20 centimeters, the police said on Sunday.

The ordnance disposal service found that the grenade could no longer be transported.

The grenade was therefore blown up on site.

The Felixsee was created by flooding a former brown coal mine.

There is a cottage settlement around the water.

The lake, on which there is also an observation tower, is a popular destination.
