After the Covid-19 vaccination centers in the United States, French sites are now also referenced on Google Maps and the Google Search search engine.

The Californian giant announced the news on Tuesday on the French version of its blog.

He said that information about where to get immunized would be updated regularly.

They are taken from the data.gouv.fr site.

France is only the second country for which Google offers this feature.

The Alphabet subsidiary has, however, set up a vast information tool on vaccination against the coronavirus available in 150 countries, including France.

This source of information is accessible via a dedicated tab added to the search engine.

It aims to “help users access reliable and useful information”.

Provide reliable information to Internet users

Google also launched this Tuesday for French Internet users a program called "Stay informed".

In addition to the places of vaccination, the latter offers general data on injections but also details on their side effects, safety, efficacy, statistics, priority groups and the latest news on the subject.

These are elements provided by the French health authorities.

This initiative is also a way to fight against fake news.

“In these very special times, access to truthful information is essential,” says Google.

The company explains that it has seen a threefold increase in the number of searches for coronavirus carried out on its engine between the start of 2021 and the previous year.

“We want to make sure that we provide locally relevant answers,” assured the company.
