Bremerhaven (dpa / lni) - The search for a young woman who fell from a container ship into the North Sea during the storm has been stopped.

As a spokeswoman for the sea rescuer said, a Navy flight at low tide did not provide any evidence of the missing person.

The police assume that there has been an accident.

"The 24-year-old had an accident while working on the gangway," said a spokesman on Monday.

The fall on Sunday showed no evidence of third-party debt.

At the time of the search, there was a storm with gusts of more than 100 kilometers per hour, as the sea rescuers announced.

The air temperature was minus eight degrees, the water temperature two degrees.

The 300-meter-long container freighter “Santa Clara” sailing under the flag of Denmark was initially anchored in Bremerhaven.

The police spokesman said the ship was now on its way to Rotterdam.
