Stuttgart / Neumarkt (dpa) - The attack on a gold transporter from the Upper Palatinate has another legal aftermath almost twelve years after the spectacular act.
While six men who have already been sentenced to prison terms have been released from prisons for a long time, an alleged seventh perpetrator is now standing before the regional court in Stuttgart.
The German is said to have driven one of the cars involved in the coup in December 2009 and brought the loot to safety.
The now 36-year-old from the Bonn area denies the allegations.
The gang had staged the attack near Ludwigsburg (Baden-Württemberg) ready for film.
Disguised as a tax investigation police officer, she had piloted the van from Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate off the Autobahn 81 and lured it straight into the trap.
In the robbery, the men, including the well-known rapper Xatar, looted 120 kilos of jewelry and dental gold worth an estimated 1.7 million euros.
There is still no trace of the prey.
The six men were sentenced to between four and nine and a half years in prison.
According to the prosecutor, the alleged seventh accomplice was suspected from the start.
However, this could not be sufficiently substantiated at the time.
