Kiel (dpa / lno) - The German record handball champion THW Kiel has extended the contract with his goalkeeper Niklas Landin.

As the club announced on Friday, the 32-year-old Dane will stay with the "Zebras" for four more years until June 30, 2025.

The current world handball player Landin has been wearing the THW jersey since 2015 and is one of the most successful players in his sport.

With the THW he won the German championship, the DHB-Pokal, the Champions League and the EHF-Pokal.

With the Danish national team he won the gold medal at the European Championships in 2012, the Olympic Games in 2016 and the World Championships in 2019 and 2021.

«With his aura and his presence he is the best that the handball planet has to offer.

He has redefined today's goalkeeping game », said THW trainer Filip Jicha about his experienced goalkeeper.

"I'm looking forward to continuing to work with Niklas."
