Hanover (dpa / lni) - The police union in Lower Saxony is demanding nationwide access for police officers to rapid tests for the corona virus.

In this way, the spread of Covid-19 diseases should be avoided in the offices, wrote GdP state chief Dietmar Schilff to the state police president Axel Brockmann.

Because the presumably more highly contagious variants of the virus are spreading ever further, a third wave of infections cannot be ruled out despite the currently falling number of cases.

«The point here is to get to the situation.

There is an urgent need for action, ”Schilff wrote according to union information on Wednesday in Hanover.

For the safety of colleagues on the job, the health department should also provide data on quarantine cases.

In order to guarantee data protection, this should only be done in individual cases;

the data should be deleted immediately afterwards.
