In Fukuoka Prefecture, as the number of new infections with the new coronavirus has decreased, the bed usage rate has also declined, reaching the standard for requesting the government to cancel the state of emergency.

Fukuoka Prefecture will soon decide whether to request the government to cancel the declaration.

Fukuoka Prefecture, which has extended the state of emergency, has established two criteria for requesting the government to cancel the declaration.

One is that the average number of newly infected people in a week is less than 180 for 7 consecutive days, which is 57.1 as of the 23rd, clearing the standard for 22 consecutive days.

In addition, the usage rate of 760 beds, which the prefecture says to secure at the maximum, was 49.6% as of the 22nd, which was lower than the previous day and reached less than 50% of the standard.

On the other hand, some experts are concerned that if the declaration is lifted, the number of newly infected people will increase again and the bed usage rate will increase, resulting in a rebound.

Fukuoka Prefecture will listen to the opinions of experts and municipalities, consider gradual relaxation of measures, and then decide whether to request the government to cancel the declaration in the near future.

Regarding Fukuoka Prefecture, Nishimura, the minister in charge of economic revitalization, said, "We are in contact with the deputy governor at the office level. We would like to make a decision while analyzing it carefully."
