Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - Because of the corona pandemic, only around half as many visitors came to the Frankfurt Zoo in 2020 as in 2019. In 2020, the zoo had 376,500 visitors - in 2019 it was 825,000, as the zoo announced on Thursday .
The zoo was closed for almost four months and the number of visitors was limited in summer.
The income from ticket sales was 60 percent below that of the previous year.
"We hope that we can welcome visitors again in spring," said zoo director Miguel Casares.
