On February 19, staff of the Qinghai National Park Bird Watching Association photographed a pair of flamingos in the Yellow River reservoir area of Xunhua County, the only Salar autonomous county in China.

The brightly colored flamingos either forage, play, perch, or fly, performing a "pink romance".

Flamingo, also called flamingo, is a large water bird.

Feeds on small shrimps, clams, insects, algae, etc., and is mainly distributed in subtropical regions such as Africa and Central and South America.

It was included in the Red List of Threatened Species in 2013.

In recent years, flamingos have occasionally appeared in Delingha and Golmud cities, Haixi Prefecture, Qinghai Province, Guide County, Hainan, and Hualong County, Haidong. Most of them are floating birds.

The flamingo's appearance in the Yellow River reservoir area of Xunhua this time was also the first discovery in the area.
