Munich (dpa / lby) - Also in the Bavarian state parliament there will be an FFP2 mask requirement from next Monday (January 18).

The President of the State Parliament Ilse Aigner (CSU) ordered this on Friday, in consultation with the Presidium.

She emphasized: "In view of the new, more contagious virus mutation and with a view to the situation in our hospitals, this is an indispensable preventive measure."

According to the notification, the arrangement applies to all meeting and traffic areas in the Maximilianeum.

“What is mandatory in local public transport and retail also applies to the members of the Bavarian State Parliament,” she said.

"We all have to do our best to finally reduce the number of corona cases."

Wearing an FFP2 mask is a simple but effective measure for this.

The corresponding order and instructions apply initially until March 31, 2021.

The cabinet had decided on Tuesday an FFP2 mask requirement for local transport and retail - this applies from Monday.
