Hamburg (AP) - FC St. Pauli has signed Eric Smith from Sweden for the relegation battle in the 2nd Bundesliga.
The midfielder will be on loan from the Belgian first division club KAA Gent until the end of the season, the Hamburg team announced on Thursday.
FC St. Pauli also secured a purchase option for the 23-year-old.
Until December he was loaned to the Swedish first division club IFK Norrköping.
Smith is the fourth player to sign from FC St. Pauli in the winter transfer window.
Previously, goalkeeper Dejan Stojanovic (FC Middlesbrough), defender Adam Dzwigala (without a club) and striker Omar Marmoush from Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg had previously brought on goalkeeper Dejan Stojanovic (FC Middlesbrough).
