Dubai Health is expanding its COVID-19 vaccination campaign from today

Based on the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to take all necessary measures to enhance efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic and to ensure the highest levels of safety for society, the Dubai Health Authority announced the expansion of the vaccination campaign against Covid - 19, for all groups of 40 years and over who hold Dubai residency (valid) and residents of 60 years and over who reside in Dubai and hold residency from any of the other Emirates, in addition to citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries who have an Emirati ID card.

Dr. Farida Al Khaja, Executive Director of the Supportive Medical Services and Nursing and Chair of the Steering Committee for the Vaccination of Covid-19 at the Dubai Health Authority revealed that the expansion also comes in terms of the age group for vaccination with the "Pfizer-Biontech" vaccine, to include vaccination with this vaccine for those of their ages (16 years) And higher, instead of (18 years), while "Dubai Health" opened the way as well to vaccination with the "Oxford AstraZeneca" vaccine for those of the age (18 years) and over.

Al-Khaja emphasized that the expansion of the vaccination campaign against Covid-19 comes within the framework of strenuous efforts to accelerate the pace of the vaccination campaign aimed at raising the immunity of the largest possible segment of society and protecting it from the epidemic, and based on the general foundations of the strategic plan for vaccination prepared by the authority late last year.

The Executive Director of the Supportive Medical Services and Nursing Services Sector, Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Vaccination of Covid-19 at the Dubai Health Authority, explained that starting today (Monday), the groups targeted for vaccination can book an appointment in advance through two channels, namely: the Authority's application on smart phones (DHA), and the Center Call the unified toll free number (800342).

Dr. Farida Al Khaja noted that the Dubai Health Authority spares no effort in implementing the directives of the wise leadership regarding providing the best forms of health care and treatment services and providing the finest forms of medical support in its various forms and forms, as the authority works with all its departments and concerned cadres to simplify procedures for obtaining the vaccine, and provide all Ways to ensure a safe and healthy environment in all vaccination centers, in a way that makes the experience of clients inside the centers more comfortable and reassuring.

It is reported that the Dubai Health Authority, in December 2020, and in coordination with the Supreme Committee for Crisis and Disaster Management in Dubai and the Control and Control Center to Combat Coronavirus, began a free vaccination campaign against Covid-19 for citizens and residents in the Emirate of Dubai according to specific stages, categories and criteria.
