Vreden (dpa / lnw) - Thanks to an attentive witness, the police in Vreden in western Münsterland pulled an intoxicated truck driver from the traffic.
According to the announcement, the 49-year-old had turned left towards a traffic light with his tractor-trailer, but then turned right when it was red.
Two drivers managed to avoid a collision.
The witness followed the truck and called the police.
When getting out, the driver had to be supported by the officers, he could no longer stand.
According to the test, he had 2.2 per thousand alcohol in his blood.
The officers took away his driver's license and secured the vehicle key.
Then we went to the sobering cell.
Criminal proceedings await the driver.
