Bad Wildbad (dpa / lsw) - In the Calw district, a car driver crashed into oncoming traffic and died shortly afterwards in a clinic.

The police believe it is possible that the 55-year-old man suffered a heart attack or other internal shock shortly before or during the accident.

This could be the reason that he lost control of his vehicle on Monday morning.

The man suddenly turned left into the opposite lane on Monday morning on the B 294 between Bad Wildbad and Höfen an der Enz.

He brushed against two oncoming cars and hit a guardrail.

He was taken to a clinic where he died shortly afterwards.

According to a police spokeswoman, it was initially unclear whether the death was due to accidental injuries or a possible heart attack.

The drivers of the oncoming cars were therefore uninjured.
