Zlatan Ibrahimovic watched the whole of last week's meeting in Zagreb, 2-2, from the bench.

When everything was to be decided at home against Röda Stjärnan on Thursday night, the Swede started on the bench again.

The 39-year-old, who was substituted after the break, saw Franck Kessié from the penalty spot give Milan the lead in the ninth minute.

In that situation, the Serbian team needed to score two goals to advance.

You only did one.

El Fardou Ben equalized in the 24th minute.

But the Red Star had more to offer.

Among other things, Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was forced to a sharp save in the 68th minute, whereupon a Röda Stjärnan player from close range thundered the return outside.

When Marko Gobeljic received his second yellow card just minutes later, it seemed clear to Milan.

But Röda Stjärnan continued to press for a winning goal.

In the last extra minute, you were given the chance to corner.

Then the referee chose to blow the match, which made the away team's coach Dejan Stankovic, who himself played in Milan rivals Inter for nine years, go to the roof.

Manchester United easily move on

Less exciting was the Swedish meeting at Old Trafford.

Manchester United had in practice already decided the double meeting with Real Sociedad.

Before tonight's return to Manchester, Victor Nilsson Lindelöfs United had a secure 4-0 lead against Alexander Isak's Basque team.

In the opening match, the guests had the opportunity to create a little nerve in the double meeting, but Mikel Oyarzabal burned from eleven meters.

Instead, the Premier League giant was able to guard his zero and parade towards the round of 16.

Aubameyang saved Arsenal

Premier League rival Arsenal is also on to the next round.

You can thank Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for that.

The team captain scored two of the goals when Arsenal "defeated at home" (the match was played due to corona restrictions in Greek Piraeus) Benfica with 3-2 in the return.

The first meeting, which was also played on a neutral level in Rome, ended 1-1.

Finished, however, it is for Leicester.

Brendan Rodger's team continues to snap the biggest clubs in the Premier League.

But when they instead had to carry the favorite against Slavia Prague, it did not work at all.

Despite a good starting position, 0-0, before the return at home, it was a loss 0-2 after the guests from the Czech Republic scored two goals in the second half.
